Abstract
* Palembang in August 2015 experienced inflation of 0.27 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to August was 1.41 percent and the year on year inflation rate (August 2015 to August 2014) was 7.75 percent.
* Palembang City Inflation in August 2015 based on expenditure groups, showed that 6 (six) groups experienced an increase in price index namely transportation, communication & financial services by 0.80 percent; health group of 0.68 percent; clothing group by 0,60 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.44 percent; education, recreation and sports group of 0.18 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel by 0.17 percent. While 1 (one) expenditure group experienced a decrease in price index, namely the foodstuffs group by -0.36 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest share of inflation in the city of Palembang included: air transportation, purebred meat, red chillies, purebred eggs, and rice. While commodities that experienced price declines with the highest share of deflation included shallots, wet shrimp, vegetable tomatoes and cork.
* The city of Lubuk Linggau in August 2015 experienced inflation of 0.49 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to August was 2.53 percent and the year on year inflation rate (August 2015 to August 2014) was 8.98 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest share of inflation in Lubuk Linggau City during August 2015 included: red chillies, household fuel, house rent, broiler chicken meat and eggs. While commodities that experienced price declines with the highest share of deflation included onions, oranges, native chicken meat, water spinach and beef.
* Based on the calculation of inflation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in August 2015 the South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 0.29 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to August 2015 was 1.53 percent and the inflation rate was "year on year" (August 2015 to August 2014) was 7.88 percent.
* Based on price monitoring during August 2015 in 82 CPI cities in Indonesia, showing that 59 cities experienced inflation and 23 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City (2.29 percent), the lowest occurred in Sumenep, Kediri and Probolinggo City (0.02 percent). While the highest deflation occurred in Ambon City (-1.77 percent) and the lowest in Singkawang City (-0.01 percent).
