* Palembang in March 2016 experienced inflation of (0.22 percent). The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 0.43 percent. While the inflation rate "year on year" (March 2016 against March 2015) was 4.89 percent.
* Palembang City Inflation in March 2016 based on expenditure groups, showed that 5 (five) groups experienced an increase in price index namely foodstuffs group of 0.72 percent; clothing group by 0.56 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.45 percent; health group of 0.13 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.06 percent. Whereas 2 (two) expenditure groups experienced an increase in price index, namely the transportation, communication & financial services group by -0.25 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by -0.07 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Palembang included red onions, red chilies, garlic, tekwan / models and wet shrimp. While commodities that experienced price declines included: rice, eggs, broiler chicken, cork fish, vegetable tomatoes and air transportation.
* The city of Lubuk Linggau in March 2016 experienced inflation of (0.58 percent). The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 to March was 0.64 percent and the year on year inflation rate (March 2016 to March 2015) was 6.47 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases that caused inflation in Lubuk Linggau City in March 2016 included: red chili, shallots, oranges, and filter clove cigarettes. Whereas the commodities that experienced the highest price declines included purebred chicken, rice, vegetable tomatoes, and chicken eggs.
* Based on the calculation of inflation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in March 2016 the South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 0.26 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to March 2016 was 0.45 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (March 2016 to March 2015) was 5.05 percent.
