Indonesian Democratic index of 2015 Sumsel Province in 2015 for 79.81, increased by 4.99 points compared to the 2014 year of 74.82

Ø in general, the value of Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) of Sumsel Province 2015 amounted to 79.81 from a scale of 0 to 100, this figure rises 4.99 points compared to IDI Sumsel 2014 for 74.82. Although the value of the democratic index of Sumsel province has increased but the level of democracy in Sumsel province is still in the category of "medium" as in 2014. The level of democracy is grouped into three of the "good" (Index > 80), "Medium" (Index 60 – 80), and "Bad" (Index < 60).
Ø The aspect of democracy (the Institution of Democracy) in 2015 amounted to 61.0 suffered a drastic decline of 17.53 points compared to 2014 in 78.53. But the other aspect of civil liberties (Civil Liberty) has increased 9.97 points from 86.09 in 2014 to 96.06 at 2015 and political rights up 15.22 points from 63.57 in 2014 to 78.79 in 2015.
Ø Methodology of IDI counting using 4 data sources are: (1) Review of local newspapers, (2) Review documents (Perda, struggle, etc.), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and (4) in-depth interviews.
Ø please be aware, starting from period 2015 applied two new indicators of the component of the variable "bureaucracy role of the local government", as a step enhancement to be more sensitive to the current field situation. The two indicators are "the policy of local government officials who are declared guilty by the decree of the PTUN" and "efforts to provide APBD information by the local government".
