Pattern of Strategic Commodity Trading of Sumatera Selatan

Abstract

The percentage of the Trade and Transport Margin (MPP) of rice commodities in South Sumatra in 2018 was 12.22 percent, red chili 56.74 percent, pedigree chicken 19.46 percent, beef 35.75 percent, onion 38.90 percent chicken eggs 18.44 percent, sugar 9.70 percent and cooking oil 18.82 percent.
The main pattern of distribution of rice trade in South Sumatra in 2018, breaking one chain compared to the pattern of the previous year, while the main pattern of distribution of red chili, shallots, broiler eggs, and cooking oil increased by one chain. While the main pattern of distribution of chicken meat, sugar, and beef is the same as the main pattern of the previous year.
Additional notes for the MPP of rice commodities have decreased significantly compared to the previous year, from 28.58 percent which is the highest rice MPP in Indonesia in 2017 to 12.22 percent in 2018 which is the sixth lowest MPP nationally.
