; In December 2012 inflation occurred by 0.54 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 135.49. Of the 66 CPI cities, this month all experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura 2.57 percent with CPI 132.71 and the lowest occurred in Kendari 0.02 percent with CPI 141.15.
; Inflation occurred due to price increases indicated by an increase in the index of all expenditure groups, namely: the foodstuffs group 1.59 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco group 0.29 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.17 percent; clothing group 0.24 percent; health group 0.18 percent; education, recreation, and sports group 0.05 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.26 percent.
; The calendar year inflation rate (January – December) 2012 and the year on year inflation rate (December 2012 to December 2011) amounted to 4.30 percent.
