Abstract
Palembang City in July 2015 experienced inflation of 1.05 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to July was 1.14 percent and the year on year inflation rate (July 2015 to July 2014) was 7.57 percent.
Palembang City Inflation in July 2015 based on expenditure group, showed that all (seven) groups experienced an increase in price index, namely the foodstuffs group of 3.45 percent; transportation, communication & financial services by 0.84 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.46 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.16 percent; clothing group by 0,16 percent; education, recreation and sports group of 0.09 percent; and the health group by 0.03 percent.
Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Palembang included: red chillies, air transportation, purebred chicken, wet shrimp, and beef. While commodities that experienced price declines with the highest deflation share include onions, eggs, and tomatoes.
The city of Lubuk Linggau in July 2015 experienced inflation of 1.90 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to July was 2.03 percent and the year on year inflation rate (July 2015 to July 2014) was 8.52 percent.
Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Lubuk Linggau City during July 2015 included: red chillies, oranges, broiler chicken, children's school uniforms, and beef. While commodities that experienced price declines with the highest deflation share include onions, eggs, and tomatoes.
Based on the calculation of inflation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in July 2015 the South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 1.14 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to July 2015 was 1.23 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (July 2015 as of July 2014) was 7.67 percent.
Based on price monitoring during July 2015 in 82 CPI cities in Indonesia, it showed that 80 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang City (3.18 percent), the lowest occurred in Pematang Siantar City (0.06 percent). While deflation occurred in Merauke City (-0.65 percent) and in Tanjung Pandan City (-0.48 percent).
