* The city of Palembang in January 2016 experienced inflation of 0.32 percent. The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 0.32 percent. While the inflation rate "year on year" (January 2016 to January 2015) was 4.58 percent.
* Palembang City Inflation in January 2016 based on expenditure groups, showed that 5 (five) groups experienced an increase in price index, namely the foodstuffs group of 0.89 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.80 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.43 percent; clothing group by 0,13 percent; health group of 0.07 percent.
Whereas 2 (two) expenditure groups experienced a decrease in price index, namely the transportation, communication & financial services group by -0.74 percent and the education, recreation and sports group by -0.14 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Palembang include: pedigree meat, electricity tariffs, shallots, cung kediro, rice and filter clove cigarettes. While commodities that experienced price declines included: gasoline, red chillies, beans, long beans, cucumbers, household fuels and diesel.
* The city of Lubuk Linggau in January 2016 experienced inflation of 0.49 percent. The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 to January was 0.49 percent and the year on year inflation rate (January 2016 to January 2015) was 5.15 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases that caused inflation in Lubuk Linggau City in January 2016 included: chicken, onion, filter clove cigarettes, house rent, electricity tariffs and garlic. While commodities that experienced the highest price declines included oranges, gasoline, cassava leaves, long beans, cayenne pepper, and cabbage / white cabbage.
* Based on the calculation of inflation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in January 2016 the South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 0.33 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to January 2016 of 0.33 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (January 2016 against January 2015) is 4.64 percent.
