Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in May 2016 amounted to 94.90 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in May 2016 still decreased compared to the base year of 2012. However, compared to the previous month, May 2016 NTP experienced an increase of 0.37 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
2. The Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) of South Sumatra in May 2016 was 102.42 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in May 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. And when compared to the previous month, NTUP in May
2016 rose by 0.64 percent.
3. NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in May 2016 was 94.75 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in May 2016 also declined compared to the base year of 2012. But when compared to the previous month, NTP without fisheries in May 2016 up by 0.40 percent.
4. NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in May 2016 was 102.19 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in May 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in May 2016 experienced an increase of 0 67 percent.
5. Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in May 2016 the sectors that experienced an increase compared to April 2016 were the horticulture, community plantations, capture fisheries sectors. While the sectors that experienced a decline were the food crops, livestock, fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
6. Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In May 2016, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.46 percent. The expenditure groups that experienced inflation were processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco, clothing, foodstuffs, transportation and communication, health and housing, while the education expenditure groups,
recreation and sport experience deflation.
