Abstract

In April 2023 there was year on year (yoy) inflation of 4.27 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.00. Yoy inflation in Palembang City was 4.28 percent with a CPI of 114.01 and in Lubuk Linggau City it was 4.27 percent with a CPI of 113.96.

Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the transportation group by 15.48 percent; personal care and other services group of 5.22 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 4.78 percent; food and drink groups and tobacco by 4.04 percent; the education group by 3.97 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 3.50 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 3.30 percent; equipment group, equipment and household routine maintenance by 2.83 percent; the health group by 1.76 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.55 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.11 percent.

The April 2023 month to month (mtm) inflation rate was 0.33 percent and the April 2023 year to date (ytd) inflation rate was 0.97 percent.

The April 2023 core component inflation rate on a yoy basis was 3.09 percent while mtm inflation was 0.18 percent and ytd inflation was 0.79 percent.
